Strange and Satisfying Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie

Looking for a fun twist on a smoothie? This peanut butter and jelly smoothie will make you think your eating one, when really you are drinking it!

I feel like I’m making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches every other day? Anyone else? Not only does my youngest love them, but my husband also eats them when we’re on the go. It’s literally the most packable meal there is!

I was trying to decide on a themed recipe to make for our Lilo and Stitch Movie Night. During my research, Lilo mentions feeding Pudge the Fish a peanut butter sandwich. And I spotted them later in the movie eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So I thought, why not a Peanut Butter and Jelly type of drink. Therefore my Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie was born!

To check out how I used this recipe for my Lilo and Stitch Movie Night!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie Ingredients

Strawberries: the strawberries give this recipe it’s jam flavor. If you like the strawberry jam on your PB&J, feel free to add more strawberries than the recipe calls for. The strawberries can be added fresh or frozen, depending on what you prefer.

Frozen Bananas: I prefer frozen bananas because they just add so much more creaminess to smoothies. But if you prefer to use fresh bananas, that works fine too.

Peanut Butter: can’t forget about the PB part of your PB&J! Any brand will work, but I’m a Jiff girl! Always have been, always will be!

Honey: adding honey to you PB&J Smoothie just adds that little oomph of sweetness this smoothie needs!

Almond Milk or Milk: feel free to use any milk you’d like in this recipe. Almond milk tends to be the go-to with smoothies, but regular milk will work just fine if that’s all you have on hand. The added calcium won’t hurt you either!

Tips for Making This Smoothie

Here a few tips for making this the best smoothie:

  1. Using frozen fruit is your best option because it keeps your smoothie cold and creamy. Try only to add ice to your smoothie as a last resort
  2. If you smoothie is too thick, don’t be afraid to to add more liquid. Only add a little bit at a time and blend until you get the right consistency that you are looking for. Some people prefer thicker or thinner smoothies, so you be the judge!
  3. Don’t be afraid to add some awesome garnishes to amp up your smoothie! I added a real peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a strawberry to the side to make my smoothie fancy!
