Jungle Cruise Movie Night Party Menu

I love coming up with fun ideas for movie night food. The tropical ideas out there are SO many. Let’s stop talking about it and get into all of the fun ideas to make your Jungle Cruise movie night come to life!

Brazilian Steaks – Jungle Cruise Movie Night Dinner

This was the perfect choice for many reasons! The movie takes place in Brazil. At the beginning of the movie when they are in the bar, Frank orders steaks for him and Lily. What a better choice than Brazilian steaks!

Brazillian steaks can be used with many different cuts of meat. I chose to go with a Denver Steak. It is a steak from the front shoulder, also known as a chuck steak.

You can use a skirt steak, flat iron steak, or flank, or anything that has some marbling to it.

Literally, this steak took 15 minutes! It’s an easy thing to cook indoors or out. (If cooking indoors, be careful of the smoke! Every time T cook steaks indoors I tend to set my smoke alarms off! Oops!)

For best results, follow these amazing tips!

  • Take your steaks out of the refridgerator and let sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.
  • Salt and pepper both sides of your steak.
  • Turn your stove to a medium high heat and spray your pan with non-stick spray.
  • Place your steaks down on one side and let it cook for roughly 8 minutes per side for a more medium done steak. (Follow chart below for a more accurate temperature check instead of time suggestions.
  • Flip steak and cook for an additional 8 minutes.

  • Let your steak sit for 5-10 minutes after cooking so juice to settle.
  • In a seperate pan, combine 6 cloves of diced garlic cloves with 4 Tablespoons of butter until butter is all melted.
  • Spoon butter mixture over steak, sprinkle with fresh parsley and enjoy!

Snake Sandwich – Jungle Cruise Movie Night Dinner

I’ve seen this snake sandwich many times before and loved it some much I made my own!

My kids are not big steak eaters. (I totally am! And I can hope they enjoy it as much as I do in the future!) This is the reason I decided to make something a little more kid-friendly for their dinner!

I love how easy this was to make! Let me tell you how to recreate it:

  • Pick up a loaf of french bread from the grocery store and slice it in smaller pieces. You want quite a few of them so you can place them on the plate and be able to curce them like a snake.
  • Make up your sandwiches with whatever meat and veggies you want. (My kids only eat Turkey and this was mostly just for them!)
  • Take all your individual sandwiches and start placing them on a plate in the shape of a snake. It should have a few curves, and the sandwiches to be close together to look more like a snake.
  • Add 2 olives with toothpicks for the eyes.
  • Slice a piece of pepper to look like a snake tongue and place it in the front sandwich.

That’s it! You’re done! Such an easy and cute idea to complete this movie night menu item. And this menu item is sure to please even the pickiest of kids for this movie night!

Proxima Bread – Jungle Cruise Movie Night Dessert

I had seen the bread before and it is called Leopard Milk Bread. I thought this recipe I found from Two Cups Flour to be a great idea for our movie night!

Since Proxima is a Jaguar, I can’t exactly call this Leopard bread. But close enough in my books! The spots came out super cute and reminded me of Proxima.

This recipe takes a little bit to make but is worth it. The orange and chocolate flavors are very mild and make for a nice dessert that’s not too sweet.

Serve it topped with peanut butter, hazelnut spread, or honey and it’s just sweet enough!

Honey Butter Popcorn – Jungle Cruise Movie Night Snack

I wanted a nice movie time snack. Popcorn is usually an obvious choice for movie nights. But I wanted to step it up and make it match the movie night we were watching.

Lope was cursed in the movie to return as basically a beehive. He was covered in honey, wax, and bees!

So I thought a choice of Honey popcorn would be fun!

This recipe was super simple

  • pop a bag of plain popcorn (no/to minimal salt and no butter)
  • combine honey, butter, and salt in a pan on the stove and boil for 1 minute.
  • pour over the popcorn and mix
  • bake for 10 minutes, stiring ever 2-3 minutes to prevent burning.

After you take out the popcorn it will harden and become crunchy and sweet.

It was a very sweet take on regular popcorn!

Tears of the Moon – Jungle Cruise Movie Night Drink

Tears of the Moon is the sole purpose for the Jungle Cruise!

All the explorers are after this special flower so I decided to turn it into a drink!

This drink is most definitely tropical and has an amazing flavor! I hope it brings life to you as it did to Frank!

For this drink you will need:

  • Pina Colada Mix
  • Grenadine
  • Sprite/Lemon Lime Soda

  1. Fill your glass up with Ice.
  2. Combine 2 TBL of Pina Colada mix with 1/2 TBL of grenadine. Mix with a spoon to combine.
  3. Fill the rest of your glass up with sprite.
  4. Enjoy!

If you want to add alcohol to your drink, add 1 shot of your favorite alcohol (ideally something clear like clear rum vodka, or gin) before you add in your sprite. They continue as needed and fill to the top with sprite!

Pina Colada just gives me a tropical vibe anyways so this drink seriously sets the mood with color and taste!

Let me know in the comments how you enjoyed this because this was my favorite part of our movie night!
