Grub/Gnocchi with Pesto Sauce

I chose this recipe because of it’s similarities to bugs that Timon and Pumba made Simba eat when he was living with them.  Grab this recipe HERE from Rosina!

Don’t forget to add in some spring mix to make it look a little more like you’re eating them from the ground! (lol!)

Pasta Shaped Lion | Lion King Movie Night Dinner

Lion King Movie Night Dinner

This was SUPER kid friendly and my kids loved it!  Plain pasta is really all you need and th kids will think it’s so much fun! Here is what you’ll need and how to make it!

Ingredients:

  • Spiral shaped Pasta (egg noodles would probably work too)
  • Your favorite pasta sauce
  • Flat Cheese(American will work!)
  • Pepperoni
  • Raisins

Instructions:

  1. Cook up your pasta and sauce. Combine and set aside.
  2. Cut your piece of cheese into a circle shape. (Use a cookie cutter or just cut it by eyeballing it) Set aside cheese you cut off to be used in a minute. Place the circular cheese in the center of your plate.
  3. Place the pasta around the edge of your cheese to look like the mane of the lion.
  4. Place the raisins on top of the cheese for the lion’s eyes.
  5. Take a piece of Pepperoni and cut a triangle shape out and place it in the middle for the nose. Place on the piece of cheese for his nose.
  6. Cut 2 line shapes around the outside of the pepperoni to look like his mouth and place it on the cheese.

Dirt Cups

Another fun way to eat “bugs” is Dirt Cups! I think we all have eaten dirt cups at one point in time. They were a treat when I was growing up. Grab the original recipe HERE from The Spruce Eats for an easy to follow recipe!
