I’m not sure who liked this Moana Movie Night more, my kids or me. It really made me smile watching them eat the cookies and non-alcoholic pina Coladas. You might be in trouble if you make this because your kids might not let you stop!
Whether you are looking for a fun movie night idea, or a fun way to prep your kids for your next Disney Trip, making a fun movie night is definitely the way to go! (Check out how I prepped my kids for Disney World using my Movie Nights HERE)

Pua's Ham and Pineapple Sliders | Moana Movie Night Dinner
This recipe was remade on a favorite slider of mine. The addition of the pineapple with the ham slider was PERFECT for my girls. They couldn’t eat enough of them! Here is how to make them:
- one 12-count package Hawaiian sweet rolls, sliced in half (see directions for more details)
- 1 pound cooked deli ham, thinly sliced
- 1/2 pound Swiss cheese, thinly sliced
- Can of pineapple slices
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 2 teaspoons dried minced onion
- 2 teaspoons Worcesteshire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 9×9-inch or 9×13-inch pan with aluminum foil, spray with cooking spray; set aside.
- Using a large serrated knife, slice the rolls in half so you have a ‘slab’ of tops and a ‘slab’ of bottoms; don’t pull the rolls apart and slice individually because you want to keep them connected.
- Place the bottom ‘slab’ of rolls in the prepared pan.
- Place 1/4 to 1/2 slice of cheese on the top of the roll.
- Layer a whole piece of ham on top of the cheese
- Optional step: repeat the cheese and ham layer for a thicker sandwich.
- Add the top ‘slab’ of rolls; set aside.
- To a medium microwave-safe bowl, add the butter and heat on high power to melt, about 1 minute.
- Add the mustard, poppy seeds, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and whisk to combine.
- Evenly and slowly pour the butter mixture over the rolls. Use a spatula to spread the mixture over the tops. Some of the mixture will pool at the base of the rolls.
- Cover with aluminum foil and allow rolls to stand at room temp for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Bake covered for about 20 minutes or until cheese has melted.
- Uncover and cook for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until as done as desired. Baking time will vary based on the size of pan used, climate and oven variances, etc. Bake until as done as desired; watch to make sure they don’t burn since all ovens and ingredients vary.
- Slice into individual sliders and serve.
- Sliders are best warm and fresh

Heart of Tifiti Cookies | Moana Movie Night Dessert
I wanted to do a cookie for our dessert! Seriously I couldn’t think of a better way to represent Moana and an easier recipe for us busy parents! Check out the directions below to make these!
- 2 packages of dry sugar cookie mix
- 2 eggs
- 2 sticks of butter
- Teal Food Dye
- Green Food Dye
- Preheat Oven to 350.
- Once Mix at a time, mix the cookie mix together according to package directions. Your direction might be slightly different than mine above.
- Once the sugar cookie mix is mixed, add in 6 drops of the teal dye and fold the cookie dough until the dough is colored teal.
- Repeat step 1 with second bag of mix.
- Once the sugar cookie mix is mixed, add in 6 drops of the green dye and fold the cookie dough until the dough is colored green.
- Roll each colored dough out until it is about 1/4 inch thick, and about 12 inch long rectangle.
- Place the Green layer down on a flat surface. Place the Teal colored dough directly on top of the green dough.
- Roll the dough tightly long ways, to create a swirl.
- You should have a roll. Start at one end and start slicing with a knife, creating individual cookies. Cookies should be about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet, 9 cookies fit well on one sheet.
- Bake Cookies at 350 for 8 minutes each.
- Let cookies cool for 2 minutes before taking off to cook on a cooling rack.
- Enjoy!
