The EASY Sand Pudding Dessert You Need This Summer

This recipe was something I used in my Lilo and Stitch movie night blog post and Youtube video. I needed a dessert that went well with the beautiful state of Hawaii and what better than sand pudding?! What made it even better is that it is a super easy dessert to make. I can tell you the kids go crazy for this dessert!

So What is Sand Pudding?
Sand pudding is a no bake dessert that is super easy to make. You can easily make this recipe for a crowd making it great for a beach party or a pool party. It is usually made up of vanilla pudding, cream cheese, whipped topping, and either vanilla wafers or golden oreos.
Ingredients for Sand Pudding
- 1 box of golden oreos or vanilla wafers
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2⁄3 cup powdered sugar
- 2 (3.5 oz) packages vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups milk
- 8 oz Cool Whip

Ways to change up your sand dessert
- Change up the container you serve it in! Serve it as a big casserole, in individual cups (see-through or not see-through), or even get some cute little beach pails like the ones below from Amazon and serve them up!

2. Switch up the flavor pudding you make! I was VERY tempted to make a cheesecake flavor but opted for just vanilla. But there are many different flavors that are white or even slightly yellow, including but not limited to Vanilla, French Vanilla, Cheesecake, and even Banana. So don’t be afraid to experiment!
3. Don’t be afraid to use different flavored vanilla cookies. First batch I made of this was with Vanilla Wafers and the second batch that I ended making with Golden Oreos. So go nuts and use any vanilla cookie you think might taste good and still look like sand when pureed.
Sand Pudding Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 box golden oreos or vanilla wafers
- 1 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 8oz whipped topping (cool whip)
Instructions
- Place your cream cheese inside a ziploc plastic bag, and place the bag inside a bowl full of hot/warm water for 15 minutes. (Use a bowl or something heavy to place on on top of the cream cheese keep it submerged in the warm water.) This will
- Crush oreos or vanilla wafers in a food processor until sand like consistency.
- In a medium sized bowl, cream you room temperature cream cheese together with your powdered sugar.
- In a seperate bowl, mix you pudding and milk together, and whisk for 2 minutes.
- Combine your pudding mixture with your cream cheese mixture and mix well.
- Fold in you whipped topping.
- Layer into your container or choice: sand, pudding, sand, pudding, ending with sand on top.
