Jungle Book Movie Night Party

I love classic Disney Movies! Our Jungle Book movie night was perfect for getting the girls introduced to this classic. I think the music is my favorites parts of this whole music. Let’s get into this Disney Classic!

Jungle Book Movie Night Menu

My food inspiration for this movie night was from the man village. Things that I thought the man-village would be eating would be things that are easily accessible to them. A stew definitely sounded like a village meal that would feed a lot of the people in the village. I also opted for some easy bread rolls, a simple fruit salad made with any and all fruits from the jungle, and a sweet jungle drink made with pineapple and coconut, even Baloo would love.

Beef Stew – Jungle Book Movie Night Dinner

I have mentioned before that I LOVE using my Instant Pot, it really cuts down on cooking time for a lot of meals that usually take hours to simmer and make.

For this recipe, I again used a Rootitoot Recipe, just like I did here in my Muppet’s movie night

The easiest part is you add everything to the pot except potatoes and carrots, and cook for 24 minutes. You can even add the beef frozen to this recipe and it comes out PERFECT every single time.

Then you add in the carrots and potatoes and cook for only 4 minutes and you are DONE.

I seriously love this recipe. Check out the original recipe here: Rootitoot Beef Stew Recipe

If you do not have an Instant pot, I still recommend you follow her recipe with the following adjustments:

  • Add all ingredients except potatoes and carrots to a big pot, and bring to a boil.
  • Turn down the heat to a simmer, and let simmer for 1 hour.
  • Add in your carrots and potatoes and continue to simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Continue the rest of the recipe as noted in the recipe above.
Lastly , your recipe should come out perfect! It does for me so let me know what you think in the comments down below!

Dinner Rolls – Jungle Book Dinner Recipe

I love bread. Now when I say that, I mean I LOVE bread. Seriously, I could live off of just different kinds of bread for the rest of my life.

If we are having stew for dinner, I need bread to dip into it. Therefore these dinner rolls were the perfect addition to our beef strew.

For our recipe today I decided to go with these 30-minute bread rolls from Spend with Pennies.

The recipe was perfect because I didn’t need to let them rise for hours. My beef stew didn’t take that long so I love that this roll recipe I was able to start after getting my stew and they came out perfect!

They come out soft, warm, and the addition of some butter on your rolls and you have a great addition to your beef stew recipe.

Fruit Salad – Jungle Book Movie Night Recipe

What I love about fruit salad is the simplicity of it. I can add whatever fruits to it I want and no matter what I put in it, it comes out yummy.

Want to know the other positive thing about Fruit Salad? My kids gobble it down! It’s sweet in just the right way, and my kids get all kinds of fruit in one sitting. Natural foods are the best side dish and they think of it as a special treat. It’s really a win-win all the way around.

I got this simple recipe from Cooking Classy.

It literally consists of 1 cup of different kinds of fruits. I opted for grapes, strawberries, bananas, oranges, and blueberries. Mix together the honey, lime, and lime zest and pour over your fruit and serve. It’s that simple.

Banana Ice Cream – Jungle Book Movie Night Recipe

Since bananas grow wild in the rainforest where all our characters live, I wanted to do a banana dessert. My kids LOVE ice cream, so I wanted to make banana ice cream!

For banana ice cream, take some bananas and toss them whole into the freezer overnight or at the very least, for 4 hours. Whether they are overly ripe or fresh, it does not matter because it is just a flavor preference.

Once they are frozen, take them out and toss them into a blender. I had a Yonana Ice cream maker specifically for this purpose, but a blender will do the same job just in a different way.

That’s it.

Then I melted down some peanut butter to add to the top for some added flavor. It was the PERFECT dessert for our Jungle Book movie night.

If you want to add some different flavors to your banana ice cream? Add in some other frozen fruits, like a few strawberries, raspberries, blueberries. They MUST be frozen though to keep that ice cream consistency.

Yum!

Coconut Punch – Jungle Book Movie Night Punch

There are ALOT of tropical drinks out there that you can do for your movie night. I came across this Jungle Book coconut Punch recipe, and it was the PERFECT idea for our movie night.

It consists of a Pina Colada mix, pineapple juice, and ginger ale. Combine in equal parts and it is really that easy.

Do you want to make it into an adult beverage? Leave some space and add in a shot or 2 of rum. Whether your preference is white rum, spiced rum, or Malibu, they will all work nicely with this recipe. Let me know what you added!

My Jungle Book Story Books

This is such a great way to get kids of all ages involved. Create a book called my Jungle Book and let the kids imagine. Preschoolers can use stickers and color a book of animals.

Older kids can create a story and color pictures. It’s a great way to get them involved and excited about the movie. Check out the original post here from Fun Learning Life – My Jungle Book Craft
