Wreck It Ralph Movie Night Party

Alright! If you aren’t excited about this movie night, then you will be after you see what I have in store for you! I have been very excited about doing a Wreck It Ralph movie night for a while. All the candy and other options in the movie left me with so much to choose from! Let’s dive right in!

Wreck It Ralph Movie Night Menu

Our menu tonight is based on all the fun arcade games in the Wreck it Ralph World. Our dinner includes Burger Time burgers and onion rings.

I thought the girls would LOVE if I remade the cookie medal that Vanellope made for Ralph, so I did! And I was SO happy with my choice of dessert.

And our lovely drink of the night was a simple rootbeer. All of the characters get together at Tapper’s at the end of the day, so Rootbeer was the obvious choice!

Burger Time Burgers – Wreck It Ralph Movie Night Recipe

I’m not going to spend much time on the Burgers because they are simple to make. So grab your favorite ground beef and your favorite burger toppings, and knock that burger out of the park!

If you need a little help with your burgers, check out this article from Bobby Flay on how to make the Best Burger.

How do you like to make your burgers? Leave me a comment below. It’ll be nice to try a new recipe next time! I’d love it to be yours!

Onion Rings – Wreck It Ralph Movie Night Recipe

I love a good onion ring, and this recipe is no exception. I opted for a beer battered onion ring because, I mean, come on! It looks freaking delicious! And omg were they delicious! We had family over for this movie night and the onion rings disappeared very quickly.

This recipe is from Just A Taste and it couldn’t have been more simple. Beer, flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper, and some sweet vidalia onions make up an onion ring to die for!

I use vegetable oil to fry all my foods in a nice wide pan on my stove. If you are wondering if your oil is hot enough, get some water on your hand and throw it into your oil. If it spits back at you, the oil is hot enough to fry.

Let me know what you think of these delicious onion rings.

Ralph’s “You’re My Hero” Sugar Cookie – Wreck It Ralph Movie Night Recipe

Wreck It Ralph has a TON of dessert options. I mean, Vanellope is from a game called Sugar Rush, so that right there is SO many options!

I really thought I would make a significant dessert from this movie, and it is the medal that Vanelloppe made for Ralph that she wrote “You’re my hero”

Remaking these cookies was SO fun! You will love making these as much as I did!

This basic sugar cookie recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction was the perfect recipe. I really liked her suggestions of rolling out the dough before cutting the cookies. It helps with not having a rock hard dough and trying to roll it after being in the fridge

Just unroll it, and cut it! That was the absolute best part of this recipe.

Hopefully you LOVE this recipe too. Check out the original recipe here: Sally’s Baking Addiction – Best Sugar Cookies

Sugar Cookie Royal Icing

The original recipe called for merengue powder but I do not have that and I just wanted to use the recipe with egg whites.

So I found this recipe from Nellie Bellie.

It was easy and yummy and I have used it many times before.

Whip up your egg whites to a nice froth for about 30 seconds. And add in your vanilla extract.

Then add in your powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until all 4 of your cups have been added.

The toughest part for me is knowing what consistency to make your icing.

I learned that if you are flooding your cooking, which usually means you are filling the whole cookie with your icing, that you want to make sure when your icing drips off your spoon, and melts back into your icing within 5-15 seconds usually.

If that does not happen, you need to do one of 2 things.

  1. If your icing is too thick, add 1tsp of water to your icing at a time until you have it at the consistency you want it to be.
  2. Or if your icing is too thin, add a tablespoon of powdered sugar to your icing until it is thickened to where you want it to be.

*Reminder: these tips are for FLOODING consistency only.

If you are looking for a piping consistency, something that will stay where you put it, for writing purposes, make it a little thicker. So you will just want to add more powdered sugar to your icing until it’s thick enough to stay when piped.

Tapper’s Root Beer

wreck it ralph recipe

I went simple for this movie night and opted for Root Beer from Tappers. I really needed a nice beer mug that looked just like that one from Tappers.

So grab your self a beer mug and pour yourself a root beer from Tappers. You’ll be having one right along with Ralph and the gang!

Wreck It Ralph Crafts

Vanellope’s Sugar Rush Car

I went into this movie night already knowing that I wanted the girls to have fun creating and crafting their very own Sugar Rush candy cars!

So I grabbed all the candy I thought would be fun for them to make their own cars.

We used:

  • marshmallows
  • Oreos
  • vanilla wafers
  • peach rings
  • m&ms
  • strawberry wafers
  • graham crackers
  • skittles
  • whoppers

We also needed some structure to our cars so we had to use some toothpicks, wooden skewers, and frosting to help hold it all together.

I let the girls just have fun with it. But we started with our base as a marshmallow on the toothpick like an axel on the wheel.

Then they use oreos and vanilla wafers for their wheels, and frosting to help hold it all together.

Next, we placed graham crackers on top of the axels of the cars, and let the girls start building!

It was a great way for them to be creative and they really loved this craft! But honestly, what kid wouldn’t love crafting using a whole bunch of cookies and candy!

I cant wait to see what kind of cars you create!
